The first Roman libraries were private collections that belong to the military commanders and to the members of higher social class. Development of public libraries starts at the end of the 1st century BC with founding of Library of Asinius Pollio. In this work it would be pointed out on when, how and where this particular library was found. In addition, it would present overview of library collection and library staff.
