dc.description.abstractThe paper describes mathematical model and numerical simulation of Mason-Weaver equation using finite difference method, FDM, for simulation of sedimentation process. Different FDM schemes have been developed and tested for several different initial conditions. Possible issues with numerical convergence and conservation of concentration are explained. Performed analysis can be important for any numerical simulation that captures sedimentation process. The results of this research can be further used in modelling epithelial cell behavior and lung-on-a-chip systems.
