Item Supporting traditional educational process with e-learning tools(2012) Namestovski Z.; Takacs M.; Arsović, BrankaIn the last few years the role and the significance of the work forms supported with computers, networks and virtual environments increased. The reason for this is technological development and the need to involve computer-based support besides the traditional education. This paper presents several methods of using e-learning tools such as Moodle, the free and open-source Course Management System and WordPress, the platform for free publishing and blogging. © 2012 IEEE.Item A solution to the inverse problem for the Sturm-Liouville-type equation with a delay(2013) Pikula, Milenko; Vladičić V.; Markovic, OliveraThe paper is devoted to study of the inverse problem of the boundary spectral assignment of the Sturm-Liouville with a delay. -y″(x) + q(x)y(α · x) = λy(x); q ∈ AC[0; π];α ∈ (0, 1] (1) with separated boundary conditions: y(0) = y(π) = 0 (2) y(0) = y′(π) = 0 (3) It is argued that if the sequence of eigenvalues is given λn(1) n and λn(2) n tasks (1-2) and (1-3) respectively, then the delay factor α ∈ (0, 1) and the potential q ∈ AC[0, π] are unambiguous. The potential q is composed by means of trigonometric Fourier coefficients. The method can be easily transferred to the case of α = 1 i.e. to the classical Sturm-Liouville problem.Item The effects of differentiation of content in problem-solving in learning geometry in secondary school(2016) Bikić N.; Maričić, Sanja; Pikula M.© 2016 by the authors. The aim of the study was to examine the effects of problem-based learning which was established on differentiation of content at three levels of complexity in the processing of the content of Analytical geometry in the plane. In this context, an experimental research was conducted, on a sample of secondary school students (N = 165) in order to examine whether methodical approach designed on the principles of problem-based learning based on differentiation of content gives better effects in learning compared to the traditional mode. The results of the final measurement shown that the experimental group achieved better overall success than control group. The results suggest that the proposed methodical approach contributes to better student performance in teaching geometry and that the most significant progress is achieved in the group of students who are average in terms of success and with ones below the average.Item The influence of content on the development of students’ critical thinking in the initial teaching of mathematics(2016) Maričić, Sanja; Špijunović K.; Lazić B.© 2016, FACTEACHEREDUCATION. All rights reserved. This paper points out the importance of developing critical thinking in the initial teaching of mathematics and highlights some of the problems associated with its realization. In this context, the authors draw attention to the definition of critical thinking and the role of content (tasks) in its development. Starting from the specificity of initial teaching of mathematics and students’ age, critical thinking is operationalized through specific skills (formulation of the problem, reformulation of the problem, evaluation, sensitivity to the problems), that become apparent in work with mathematical content. On a sample of 246 students (9.5–10.4 years old), an experimental study (experiment with parallel groups) was organized in order to examine whether, with the selection of appropriate content (tasks), critical thinking in the initial teaching of mathematics can be developed. The results show that, with the appropriate choice of content, students’ critical thinking, viewed as a whole, can be developed and that, in that process, we can significantly influence the development of each of its skills (formulation of the problem, reformulation of the problem, evaluation, sensitivity to the problems).Item Misuse of psychologically active substances of convicts being in prisons and their treatment(2016) Plojovic S.; Dimitrijević Slavica; Maksimović, Andrijana; Zejnelagic S.; Hurem A.; Muraspahic M.© 2016 Safuadan Plojovic, Slavica Dimitrijevic, Andrijana Maksimovic, Sabina Zejnelagic, Adem Hurem, Muamer Muraspahic. Due to the data of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia, over 70% of persons being in prisons and serving their sentences are drug addicts, and 50% of them are drug users. In the European prisons, the percentage of persons using drugs in the entire prison population is 20-70%, and in the USA 70-80%, in the Australian prisons between 50 and 80% of the convicts in prisons are addicts of psychologically active substances. The results of our survey are pursuant to official statistics data for Serbia, the European countries, USA and Australia, since 80% of our convicts in prisons have misused psychologically active substances during the period of 30 days, the previous period before coming to these institutions. More than a half of our examinees (60%), misuses narcotics and alcohol occasionally or permanently, the alcohol users only 12.7%, and only narcotics 7.3% of the ones, meaning that a treatment of addiction disease should have a significant role in prevention of recidivism.Item Developing and fostering creativity through the works of art by young pupils(2017) Selakovic, KristinkaThe aim of this experimental research was to examine the effectiveness and impact of active observation of the work of art by applying specially designed strategies, methods and procedures to the development of general artistic creativity in pupils. The research was conducted on a sample of 199 pupils (the experimental group consisted of 102 pupils, and the control group of 97 pupils) from two primary schools in Užice (Serbia). The conclusions indicate how important it is for children to access the work of art on a personal level, independently and through interaction, as well as to develop their own concepts.Item Prilog očuvanju nacionalnog vaspitanja i obrazovanja - Biljana Beloica Pavlović i Dragana Cicović Sarajlić (2018).(Faculty of Education in Užice, 2018) Sudzilovski, DanijelaItem Tendencies in future education development: Prsonalized and adaptive e-learning(Faculty of Education in Užice, 2018) Arsović, BrankaAn approach founded on belief that one learning system suits each and every students results in a great many problems that can be summarized as a lack of personalization. Adaptive e-learning systems try to solve these problems by shifting the presentation of material to suit each individual student. The paper discuss need for a paradigm shift-from teacher-centric to a student-centric learning model-by leveraging technology. The use of ICT (information and communication technologies) powered adaptive and personalized learning holds great promise as a cost-effective and egalitarian means to help greater numbers of students accelerate their learning, graduate, and meet challenges in a competitive world.Item Derivation in English: Names of professions and their translation into Serbian(Faculty of Education in Užice, 2018) Ljubičić, GordanaDerivation is one among the many processes of word-formation in English. It is a word-formation process by which a new word is produced from an already existing one by adding affixes (prefixes, infixes or suffixes) to a base. Affixes are also added to a base in the process of inflection, but in the case of inflection, it is not a new word that is produced, but only a grammatical variant of an already existing word. The paper discusses the affixes (suffixes mostly), which are used to produce the words denoting professions in English. It also deals with the new professions that are appearing every day due to the changes in all areas of human life and how the English language produces the new terms to cover these new needs. The point is that the names of all those professions are hard or even impossible to translate into Serbian, so the job of a translator is to discover the ways of how to find the best solution for the problem either by inventing a new term, or more often by adapting the foreign words to follow the rules of the Serbian language, which is not an easy task to do.Item The role of literary content for children in preschool mathematics education(2018) Maričić, Sanja; Stakić, Mirjana; Malinović-Jovanović N.© Authors. In this paper, authors point out the need and possibilities of integrating content from literature for children into the process of preschool mathematics education. On concrete examples of various forms of literature for children (picture book, poetic text, story, fairy tale, numerator) point out the role of these contents in the process of learning and building mathematical concepts in preschool mathematical education. The contents from literary for children are viewed as a starting point in the work on mathematical education activities whose role is to create a real-life context, which is close to the child, in which the child is accustomed, in which the child is motivated to participate, as content that excites curiosity and interest in learning of abstract mathematical concepts, and which visualizes mathematical concepts and helps crossing from concrete performances to abstract mathematical performances.Item Razvijanje socijalne inteligencije posredstvom tumačenja basne u nastavi(Faculty of Education in Užice, 2018) Čutović, MirjanaU kontekstu razredne nastave u pedagoškoj teoriji i praksi razvijeni su brojni metodički pristupi u funkciji unapređivanja socijalne inteligencije učenika, a posebno mesto pripada stvaralačkom pristupu u tumačenju književnih dela. Item Obim i intenzitet motorne aktivnosti na časovima fizičkog vaspitanja(2018) Goran, Sekeljic; Stamatovic, MilovanThe realisation of the majority of objectives of physical education classes is based on the motor activity of students. Previous studies have shown that the activity of students during class is very low (Božović, 2011; Đokić, 2014; Marković et al., 2012; McKenzie, 2006; Simons-Morton, Petrović, 2010; Taylor et al., 1994). The goal of this research was to determine how the motor activity of students in Physical Education classes contributes to the fulfillment of the recommendations related to the physical activity of children. The study of Tudor-Loki and others (Tudor-Locke et al., 2011) indicates that in one day boys should make, on average, between thirteen and fifteen thousand steps, and girls between eleven and twelve thousand steps. In addition, we wanted to determine whether there were any differences in the number of steps made during lessons where different subject areas were covered (athletics, gymnastics, elementary games) and whether the feedback on a realised activity, available during and after practice, can serve as a basis for increasing students’ active time during a lesson and facilitating the planning of the subsequent lessons. In this research, the volume of motor activity is expressed as the number of steps and the measurement was performed with a pedometer. The monitoring of one male student and one female student of the first grade of primary school was carried out during thirty-five classes of different subjects. In the Physical Education class, the respondents realised between 2013 and 4875 steps. They covered the distance ranging between 1309 and 2490 meters. The average intensity of activities during the class was over eighty steps per minute. The smallest number of steps (2254 boys and 2404 girls) and the shortest active time (50%) were realised in the gymnastics class. The biggest number of steps (4721 boys and 4430 girls) and the longest active time (80%) were realised in the athletics class. The primary school teachers involved in the research claim that the information obtained by using a pedometer helps them to plan their lessons and that the data on the number of covered steps can help them evaluate the quality of their lessons in terms of students’ physiological loadItem Efikasnost primene poligona kao organizacionog oblika rada u nastavi fizičkog vaspitanja(Serbian Pedagogical Society, Belgrade & University of Belgrade - Faculty of Philosophy, 2018) Pavlović, Slobodan; Marinković, Dragan; Marković, JovanThe research presented in this paper aimed to determine the effects of using circuit training as a teaching method in physical education. The sample consisted of 95 students (age 7.7±0.7 years), divided into two groups. Circuit training was used in physical education classes with the experimental group (N=49) over the course of eight weeks, while the control group (N=46) had physical education classes according to the regular P.E. program. All the subjects in the study were given four motor skills tests to assess their speed, coordination, explosive strength and repetitive strength. Multivariate analysis of covariance showed that at the end of the study, subjects in the experimental group performed significantly better than subjects in the control group, while the paired sample T-test found the effects of the procedure to be statistically significant (p=0,00). The study highlights the importance of using circuit training as an organizational form of instruction in physical education to improve the motor skills of school children. Item Applicability of the developmental coordination disorder questionnaire for children in Serbia(2018) Golubović T.; Kalaba S.; Maksimović, Jelena© 2018, Specijalna edukacija i rehabilitacija (Beograd). The aim was to evaluate the applicability of the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ) adapted for use on the population of children in Serbia. The sample consisted of 901 children (age range 60-168 months) who did not have problems with coordination and the clinical sample of 58 children (age range 60-108 months). The parents assessed their child's coordination rating it on a 5-point Likert scale. Internal consistency of the instrument was 0.94, item-correlations were as high as over 0.70, test-retest reliability was good (r=0.97, p=0.00). The results revealed a significant positive correlation between the total questionnaire score and age (r=0.28, p=0.00). Factor analysis confirmed three-factor structure. The questionnaire had good sensitivity (98%) and specificity (78%). The DCDQ applied on Serbian children has a potential to be a reliable and valid instrument for screening children with coordination problems.Item Tragom dečjeg poimanja književnosti - Buba Stojanović i Danijela Mišić: Dečji svetovi u knjigama – mogućnosti tumačenja (2018). Vranje: Pedagoški fakultet(Faculty of Education in Užice, 2018) Puric, Daliborka SItem Percepcija direktora škola o razvoju kvaliteta i inkluzivnosti obrazovno-vaspitnog procesa kao standardima njihovih kompetencija(Faculty of Education in Užice, 2018) Stamatović, Jelena; Maksimović, JasnaThe competences of school principals imply characteristics, knowledge and abilities that the principals need in order to optimally achieve the goals of the school set up by the society. A large range of tasks and responsibilities, but also the expectations imposed, make the role of the school principal very challenging and complex. The paper presents the results of a qualitative research on how the principals perceive their competencies in the field of quality development and inclusiveness of the educational process. The results show that principals know their competencies, but their implementation in these areas is focused mainly on very general issues both from the perspective of management and the managerial approach.Item The impact of resistance training program on the muscle strength and bone density in adolescent athletes(2018) Bubanj S.; Mitković M.; Gasic, Katarina; Mazic S.; Stanković R.; Radovanovic, Dragan; Obradovic B.; Goran, Sekeljic; Stamatovic, Milovan; Marković, Jovan; Uzunovic S.© 2018 Saša Bubanj et al., published by Sciendo 2018. Strength training and other modes of physical activity may be beneficial in osteoporosis prevention by maximizing bone mineral accrual in childhood and adolescence. This study focuses on the impact of the nine-month long program of resistant exercises with different level of external loads (low, middle and high) on the lower limbs explosive strength and bone tissue density in athletes adolescents aged 17 to 18 years. Sixty healthy, male athletes and non-athletes, divided into experimental (ES, sprinters, N = 45) and control sub-sample (CS, non-athletes, N = 15), were included in study. ES examinees (EG1, EG2 and EG3) were subjected to the program of resistance exercises with low level (60% of the One Repetition Maximum-1RM), middle level (70% 1RM), and high level (85% 1RM) of external loads, respectively. Bone Density values were determined by the use of a clinical sonometer.,Sahara (Hologic, Inc., MA 02154, USA). Explosive strength values of hip extensors and flexors, knee extensors and flexors, and ankle plantar and dorsiflexors were determined by the use of accelerometer.,Myotest (Sion, Switzerland) and the means of Counter Movement Jump without arms swing (CMJ) and half squat. ANOVA method for repeated measures and ANCOVA method were used to determine significant differences and resistance program effects on the lower limbs explosive strength and bone tissue density. Resistance exercise does impact the explosive strength and bone parameters in a way to increase half squat 1RM values, but decreases CMJ values, and increases speed of sound (SOS), broadband ultrasound attenuation (BUA) and bone mineral density (BMD) values in athletes-adolescents, aged 17-18 years.Item Afektivna vezanost u kontekstu kognitivnog razvoja - pedagoške implikacije(Faculty of Education in Užice, 2018) Luković, Slađana; Zlatić, LidijaIn psychology, affective and cognitive development are often observed and studied as different and separate processes. However, in the last decades, a different idea has been studied in psychology: the idea that the affective and cognitive development are related, that is, the affective relationship between mother and child in the early developmental period, which can be developed as safe or unsafe, is to a certain extent related to the development of cognition. The success of children in various cognitive tasks in relation to patterns of affective attachment, as well as their overall behavior during the test situation had been studied. The researchers also dealt with the question ofmediating mechanisms or mediators between affective and cognitive development. The text will first discuss the theory of affective attachment, and then the basic research findings from this field will be presented, as well as the possible mediating mechanisms or mediators in the relationship of affective attachment and cognitive development.Item The effect of preschool mathematics education in development of geometry concepts in children(2018) Maričić, Sanja; Stamatović, Jelena© Authors. Given the fact that early mathematics education is important for further learning of mathematics, authors of this paper examine the effects that preschool mathematics education on development of geometry concepts in children. On a sample of 290 children, through a one-on-one interview, we studied the development of geometry concepts in children at the end of preschool education in Serbia. Research results show that the preschool mathematics education achieves significant effects developing geometry concepts in children. Preschool mathematics education does not achieve equal effects on the development of all geometry concepts covered by the curriculum of preschool education, that there are no differences in the development of these concepts depending on the location of the preparatory preschool institution and the gender of the child, but that the education level of the child's parents has great impact on the development of these concepts.
